In general, activating the Mobile ID is voluntary before registering for the electronic signature.

Kindly note that only customers with a Swiss mobile number can activate Mobile ID SIM.

If you want to activate the Mobile ID app before registration, you can download it from the iOS or Android app stores and activate it directly in the app. You can read our manual on how to activate the Mobile ID app.
Important hint: Please activate only one option of Mobile ID to use as signature approval means in the future.
Suppose you do not wish to activate the Mobile ID before the registration for the electronic signature. In that case, you can register the password and SMS code method (PWD/OTP) during identification because it is configured as a fallback solution. In this process, you set a secure password and receive a one-time code via SMS to confirm the registration for the electronic signature.
