Green Hook representation in Adobe Web Browser PDF Reader

Customers have reported that signed documents are not displayed correctly in the Acrobat Web browser view with a green tick as validly signed.

The reason for this is that Swisscom, as a trust service, always includes a qualified electronic time stamp with the signatures. This is mandatory in Switzerland, but not in the EU, but is important for the evidential value in court.

Adobe Acrobat web view had difficulties with the processing of timestamps and will fix this bug shortly. However, the Adobe Reader display (in the executable programme) is correct.

In general, it should be noted that a proper verification of signatures should always be carried out by the official validators in the EU or at validator.ch. In the EU, attention should be paid to certified validation providers.

UPDATE 07.07.2025:

Adobe announced it has difficulties to handle the timestamp correctly and by this has no chance to validate short-term certificates. We have reopened tha case but we do not expect short repair of this Adobe Bug.

UPDATE 09.07.2025:

The version 25.6.2.0 on Edge browser show the signatures correctly. The Chrome extension still does not work properly
