Solution overview

The use of electronic signatures requires prior identification and registration of a person. Until now, physical presence was usually necessary in Switzerland. Now, the revised TAV enables simplified remote identification procedures. Swisscom Trust Services offers two additional identification procedures in cooperation with Intrum:

VideoIdent

With the VideoIdent procedure, a video call takes place between the customer and an employee at the Intrum call center in Switzerland. During the video call, the agents check whether the information provided matches the identity document shown and whether the photo and security features are legit. In addition, they ask specific questions to ensure that the person is speaking live and that there is no recording (so-called deepfakes). The call center is open from Monday to Saturday from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. The process supports the languages German, English, French or Italian.

  • Compliance with ETSI standards
  • Identification by video taking into account industry-specific requirements (GWG, CFT, ZertES, eIDAS, etc.)

After successful video identification and confirmation of identity, the verified data is imported into the Swisscom database to enable multiple use of the electronic signature. Additional solutions are available for regulatory GWG requirements.

AutoIdent

AutoIdent is an automated procedure in which the process steps are similar to the VideoIdent procedure: However, the person goes through the identification process automatically and does not interact with a video agent. Instead, an artificial intelligence (AI) takes over the numerous checks. Intrum employees only become active after the automated process is completed and manually confirm the accuracy of the AI-supported check again. This is mandatory in Switzerland for documents without an NFC chip.

  • Compliance with ETSI Standards
  • Availbale around the clock Rund um die Uhr verfügbar
  • Compliance with all security levels and KYC processes

After completion of the Auto-Ident procedure, the verified data is imported into the Swisscom database to enable multiple use of the electronic signature. There are also solutions available for GWG requirements.
