How can authorities in Switzerland without UID entry get a regulated seal?
Authorities without UID entry could get a seal for the superordinate authority with its own OU entry.
Authorities with UID entries (uid.admin.ch) must apply for their own authority certificate. They cannot use the seal of the higher-level authority, which has a different UID number.
It is still possible to issue an authority certificate for the UID of the higher-level authority. It is not necessary for directorates, departments or offices to use their own seals if they do not have a UID.
The following options are available for authorities without a UID:
Use of the authority certificate of the superordinate authority
Apply for their own certificate under the UID of the superordinate authority. The authority is specified via an additional OU field. However, if this authority later applies for its own UID, a separate seal must be applied for.
Application for a separate UID and issue of a separate certificate under a separate UID.
