Which digital file formats are supported by Signing Service?
The Signing Service of Swisscom Trust Services provides a signed hash of digital documents to the signature application partner.
For electronic signatures (qualified and advanced personal signatures), Signing Service supports the PAdES standard, i.e., PDF/A format. XAdES standard used for, e.g., XML or XLSX, is not supported for electronic signatures.
For electronic seals (qualified/regulated and advanced organization signatures), Signing Service supports PAdES and XAdES standards.
Kindly note: You need to prepare the XAdES standard in your signature application and implement the call of a “plain signature”. Please refer to the All-In Signing Service Reference Guide.
Overall, Signing Service does not support electronic signatures or seals on Word files (DOCX) because it is not intended for this purpose by law.
