Change from password and SMS code method to Mobile ID and vice versa

In principle, a change of the signature approval means always requires a re-identification and registration for the electronic signature.

How to switch from password & SMS code method (PWD/ OTP) to Mobile ID app or SIM

If you use the password & SMS code method (also known as PWD/OTP) as signature approval means and would like to use the Mobile ID app instead, you can follow these steps:

  1. Download the Mobile ID app on your mobile phone. The Mobile ID app is available in iOS and Android stores: https://qrco.de/bbUqn3.
  2. You can open the Mobile ID app and add a Mobile ID app account to activate it. Here is a manual on starting the Mobile ID app. Please write down your Mobile ID recovery code and store it safely. Attention: now you cannot sign electronically anymore if you have been registered already!
  3. Get identified by your signature application provider, a RA agent in your company, our SRS Ident website, or face-2-face through SRS Direct.
  4. Please accept the terms and conditions of the Signing Service with the Mobile ID app so that you can go ahead and finalize your registration for the electronic signature.

If you use the password & SMS code method (also known as PWD/OTP) as signature approval means and would like to use Mobile ID SIM instead, you can follow these steps:

Attention: Only customers with a Swiss mobile number can use Mobile ID SIM because it is pre-installed on Swiss SIM cards.

  1. You can activate your Mobile ID on your Swiss SIM card. Here is a manual on activating Mobile ID on your SIM card. Please write down your Mobile ID recovery code and store it safely.
    Attention: now you cannot sign electronically anymore if you have been registered already!
  2. Get identified by your signature application provider, an RA agent in your company, your SRS Ident website, or face-2-face through SRS Direct.
  3. Accept the terms and conditions of Signing Service with Mobile ID SIM by entering your defined Mobile ID PIN on your mobile phone to finalize your registration for the electronic signature.
Hint: We recommend that customers with Swiss mobile numbers only activate one Mobile ID method.

How to switch from a Mobile ID app or SIM to a password & SMS code method (PWD/OTP)

If you use the Mobile ID app or SIM as signature approval means and would like to use the password & SMS code method (also known as PWD/OTP) instead, you can follow these steps:

  1. De-activate the Mobile ID app or SIM on your mobile phone. Here is a manual on de-activating your Mobile ID on your mobile phone
  2. Get identified by your signature application provider, a RA agent in your company, our SRS Ident website, or face-2-face through SRS Direct.
  3. Accept the terms and conditions of Signing Service by setting a secure password and confirming it with a one-time SMS code to finalize your registration for the electronic signature.

Attention: There is no recovery process for your password. If you should forget your set password, you need to get re-identified.

How to switch from Mobile ID SIM to Mobile ID app

If you use Mobile ID SIM as signature approval means (this only applies to customers with a Swiss mobile number) and would like to use Mobile ID app instead, you can follow these steps:

  1. Generate a Mobile ID recovery code on your Mobile ID Dashboard and write it down. Here is a manual on how to generate your Mobile ID recovery code 
  2. De-activate Mobile ID SIM in the Mobile ID Dashboard. You can find the manual here.
  3. Download the Mobile ID app on your mobile phone. The Mobile ID app is available in iOS and Android stores: https://qrco.de/bbUqn3.
  4. You can just open the Mobile ID app and add a Mobile ID app account. You can enter your generated recovery code from Step 1 to re-activate your Mobile ID.
  5. Now you can continue to sign electronically.

Attention: If you activate the Mobile ID app without your Mobile ID recovery code, you need to get re-identified and registered for the electronic signature!

How to switch from the Mobile ID app to Mobile ID SIM

Attention: Only customers with a Swiss mobile number can use Mobile ID SIM. Customers in the EU/EEA should only use the Mobile ID app!

If you use the Mobile ID app as a signature approval means and would like to use Mobile ID SIM instead, you can follow these steps:

  1. Generate a Mobile ID recovery code on your Mobile ID Dashboard and write it down. Here is a manual on how to generate your Mobile ID recovery code.
  2. De-activate the Mobile ID app in the Mobile ID Dashboard. You can find the manual here.
  3. You can activate your Mobile ID on your Swiss SIM card. Here is a manual on activating Mobile ID on your SIM card. Please write down your Mobile ID recovery code and store it safely.
  4. Now you can continue to sign electronically.

Attention: If you activate your Mobile ID SIM without your Mobile ID recovery code, you must get re-identified and registered for the electronic signature!

 

Overall, a remote electronic signature always requires a 2-factor authentication means that fuctions as signature approval. You register this signature approval means during the identification and registration process for the electronic signature. If you like to change your signature approval means, a new identification and registration will always be necessary.
