Following the merger of our two remote signature options for long-term and short-term certificates, and in light of new legal regulations, we have amended our terms of use exclusively for new customers. Existing customers do not need to adopt these changes for the time being (until the next re-identification).
Adjustments to the Terms of Use :
The applicability to persons residing in the EU, Switzerland, and the EEA has been emphasized. It should be noted that persons residing outside these regions may be subject to different data protection laws, consumer protection regulations, or rules governing the use of cryptography, which could potentially render an electronic signature invalid.
The German version of the multilingual Terms of Use shall prevail. This allows to publish AI generated translations in other languages in the future.
References and links have been updated.
The Terms of Use now also apply to personal signatures using long-term and short-term certificates. The information on retention and issuance periods has been updated accordingly to reflect the different options. For long-term certificates, users are now required to revoke the certificate if the information it contains is no longer accurate (e.g., name change after marriage). Swisscom will generally continue to issue only short-term certificates; long-term certificates remain exceptions, issued only where explicitly requested by signature application partners in previous projects.
The examples of authentication methods have been updated, for example to include newly available methods such as passkeys.
The new legal provisions regarding one-time signatures (identification signatures) have been incorporated.
References to legal provisions have been updated (e.g., corrections concerning the new Swiss Data Protection Act).
The option of identification via bank account has been removed due to changes in regulatory requirements.
Introduction of an information obligation on Swisscom in the event of service termination.

The Multiple Authentication Broker (MAB) will incorporate the new Terms of Use in Q4. The terms have already been published in the repository.
