Another online identification and registration method for the qualified electronic signature by the EU eIDAS Regulation is now available in the Smart Registration Service (SRS). With the SRS Selfie Ident EU method, people can conveniently identify themselves from anywhere using a mobile app on their smartphone. The identification is based on artificial intelligence and only requires a valid passport or German identity card. Unlike video identification, the identification is not carried out by a video agent, but a video recording is made of the identity document presented and the person (selfie video). After the recording, the artificial intelligence automatically validates the identity in the background. This saves costs and time and increases the conversion rate due to low false rates.
The identification method SRS Selfie Ident EU can be connected via the interface by our Smart Registration Service customers. The service is also possible via our identification page with a voucher. Vouchers can be purchased through our partners.
If a person wants to be identified for the qualified electronic signature, he receives a link to the start page from one of our signature partners. There he will be asked to download the mobile app of the identification partner onto his smartphone. After opening the app, the user scans the QR code on the start page and directly starts an identification process for Swisscom, for which the user needs a valid identification document.
During the identification process in the app, the person is asked to scan and wave their ID document so that artificial intelligence can validate the security features. A selfie video is then taken of the person, verifying that you are not a fake person.
Finally, the person answers a few security questions and accepts the terms of use of the signing service. Afterward, the customer can sign documents in our partners’ applications with a qualified electronic signature (by the EU eIDAS regulation) as often as desired – without having to identify themselves again for each future signature process.
