Qualified electronic signature at Kaiser Partner Private Bank - Swisscom Trust Services

Kaiser Partner Private bank, based in Vaduz (Liechtenstein), was not only looking for an electronic signature solution that was quickly ready for use, but also one that was characterized by maximum user-friendliness. The choice fell on XiTrust with its Moxis solution, which integrates the qualified electronic signatures from Swisscom Trust Services.

"We assess new initiatives that come from the individual departments and accompany all ongoing projects," says Fabian Scherrer, Head of Project Management at Kaiser Partner Privatbank. The electronic signature is one of these initiatives. This had already existed in essence since the spring of 2020. With the restrictions on personal contacts, the topic of e-signature landed "overnight" at the top of the private bank's list of priorities. Within four weeks, the company wanted to integrate the new solution into their signing processes.

The cause of implementation was the security measures for the Covid 19 pandemic: the responsible at Kaiser Partner knew that signing documents manually was no longer compatible with the new situation."It was also a matter of integrating the employees in the home office with the help of a professional signature solution and thus avoiding the threat of friction losses," explains Fabian Scherrer.

Kaiser Partner is an award-winning, family-owned private bank based in Liechtenstein. Founded in 1977 in the Liechtenstein capital of Vaduz, the institution has focused on responsible investing and banking for over a decade.

Only in 4 weeks

"Reliability and security are values that have always dominated our company," says Fabian Scherrer. The manager also places the same requirements on a solution for electronic signatures. One of the key requirements was a qualified electronic signature that is compliant with both eIDAS (EU) and ZertES (CH).

"MOXIS by XiTrust together with the signatures from Swisscom convinced us the most in the end of all the solutions evaluated," says Scherrer. A decision of high impact. Because the head of Project Management also knew: "We couldn't afford to make a mistake, otherwise the deadline of four weeks for the company-wide transition to certified electronic signatures would not have been met."

Common mind-set

According to Mr. Scherrer, the cooperation with XiTrust and Swisscom Trust Services during implementation was characterized by a common mind-set. In every phase of the project the stakeholders had competent contact persons. At Kaiser Partner Privatbank, about two-thirds of the MOXIS application spectrum comprises internal documents. When the employees are in contact with customers and consultants, they use the qualified electronic signature.

Easy, intuitive and fast

But it was not only the speed of deployment that convinced Kaiser Partner Privatbank. Mr. Scherrer describes his experiences while working with the solution daily as "easy, intuitive and fast. There is one interface from which I can navigate. We don't have to do a lot of clicking around to sign a document electronically. Everything is documented transparently and comprehensibly. It's a perfect solution."

In the future, the group plans to roll out MOXIS to other coporate entities. There is also consideration of equipping bank customers with remote signature directly through Kaiser Partner Privatbank. Fabian Scherrer says: "With XiTrust and Swisscom Trust Services, we have received an overall package that fits perfectly with the values of Kaiser Partner Privatbank."
